Criteria

Selection Criteria & Process

State Trial Trials

Mandatory participation in MAAG State Trials. Athletes must have an active MAAG Player Registration Card and valid medical fitness certificate.

Age & Weight Categories

Selection is discipline-specific and age-category-based (Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior, Masters). Weight categories follow respective national federation guidelines.

Performance Points

Cumulative performance points from state-level events, district championships, and invitational tournaments are considered alongside trial performance.

Medical Fitness

Medical clearance by the MAAG Chief Medical Officer is mandatory. Athletes with unresolved injuries or medical conditions are deferred to the next selection cycle.

Discipline Record

Athletes serving active suspensions or under disciplinary inquiry are ineligible. A clean conduct record for the preceding 12 months is required.

Announcement

Selected squads are announced on the MAAG website within 7 days of trials. Grievances against selection can be filed with the Legal Committee within 5 working days.
